Tourist season is in its height in
Chernihiv. Every week thousands of
guests from different regions of Ukraine and from abroad visit an
ancient city. They admire Anthony caves, they are charmed to observe Chernihiv
from bird's eye view – from St. Trinity monastery bell-tower of the XVIII
century, travel around ancient Dytynets (historical centre of prince city).
National architectural-historical
park “Chernigiv ancient” offers to visit:
Borys and Hlib cathedral of the XII century; Anthony caves of the XI-XVIII
centuries; the exhibitions of professional and folk icons of the XVII-XIX
centuries; tours around ancient Dytynets (Rampart) visiting Our Saviour cathedral
of the XI century, around the territory of Boldyn Hills with burial mound
necropolis of the IX-X centuries
visiting St. Trinity monastery and all over the territory of ancient Chernihiv
with architectural monuments of the XI-XIX centuries; the exhibitions “Chernihiv
regional art of the end of the XVII – the beginning of the XX century” and
“Chernihiv and Chernihivites hundred years ago” (in the Collegium), “Chernihiv
architecture and craft of the X-XIII centuries” and “Church antiquities of the
XVII-XIX centuries” (in Borys and Hlib cathedral).
Research
workers of the Park will tell you the history of centuries-old beautiful town, provide
tours and thematic excursions to museums and historical places.
